You’ve read it before – you’ve heard it before!

So, what is stopping you from implementing a successful Mentoring Program? Is it time; is it lack of resources; is it budget; is it lack of support from senior management; or is it just a case of “where do we begin”?

Well, to help you with these dilemmas, here is a refresher on some of the most compelling mentoring statistics as of 2025, highlighting mentoring’s impact across professional development, employee engagement, and organizational success:

Individual Impact

    • 76% of professionals believe having a mentor is important for growth, yet only 37% actually have one.
    • 97% of individuals with a mentor say the experience is valuable.
    • 87% of mentors and mentee's report feeling empowered and more confident through their relationships.
    • 89% of mentored individuals go on to mentor others, creating a ripple effect of support.
    • Mentee's are 5x more likely to be promoted; mentors are 6x more likely to advance than their peers.
    • Workers with mentors report higher job satisfaction across all income levels.
    • More than 40% of employees without a mentor have considered quitting recently, compared to 25% of those with one.

Organizational Impact

    • 84% of Fortune 500 companies have mentoring programs, with 100% of Fortune 50 and 96% of Fortune 100 participating.
    • Companies with mentoring programs saw 18% better profits, while those without had 45% worse than average.
    • Retention rates are significantly higher for mentee's (72%) and mentors (69%) compared to non-participants (49%).
    • 25% of mentored employees received a salary grade increase vs. 5% of those without mentoring.

Mentoring isn’t just a feel-good initiative. It should be an organizational strategy for growth, retention, and skill/competency building. Want help designing a mentoring program or evaluating its ROI or simply evaluating your present mentoring initiative and determining how to take it from “good” to “great”!
